The report “One Second at Home, Like the Eternity of War”

The report “One Second at Home, Like the Eternity of War” is probably one of the most intimate and painful pieces produced by Viorica Tătaru and Andrei Captarenco. We follow Serghei, a soldier who returns briefly to his family, yet seems trapped in a trance that not even the love of those closest to him can break.
It is a story about silences that hurt more than explosions, about wives who cry in secret while knitting for the front, and about the gaze of a father who does not want to “burden” his children with the horrors he has seen. Before putting on his uniform again, Serghei leaves us a lesson about the invisible cost of this war: the pain of a soul that no longer has words.
