VIORICA TATARU<\/h2> <\/div>\r\n

A graduate of the Academy of Arts in Chi\u0219in\u0103u (TV and Film Directing), she began her career in the production of short films and documentaries, collaborating with BUCIUMUL and CIOFILM studios. Viorica Tataru made her journalistic debut at Curaj TV, then became part of the Ziarul de Gard\u0103 editorial team. In 2018, she received the Special Award for Dignity and Courage, presented by the Independent Press Association. A year later, she produced the project \"Camerawoman\" for TV8 and was named Journalist of the Year for best video material. Her collaboration with TV8 continued, and in 2025 Viorica won the National Award for Journalistic Ethics and Deontology, marking the first time the distinction was awarded to an individual rather than an editorial team. With support from the Center for Independent Journalism, she produced the documentary project \"The Village Woman, Georgia vs Moldova.\" In 2020, together with Andrei Captarenco, she launched the documentary series \"Beyond the Dniester,\" for which they were named Journalists of the Year 2021 and nominated for the prestigious Adami Media Prize.\nWith camera in hand, Viorica became a presence as constant as she was uncomfortable for all those who sought to suppress press freedom and human rights. She produced materials on oligarchy, corruption, propaganda, and the problems faced daily by citizens of the Republic of Moldova, collaborating with media institutions such as Podul, Cotidianul.md, and Watchdog.md. Viorica was in Odesa on February 24, 2022, when the city was attacked by Russian missiles. That is when her Road to War began, a long and exhausting journey. The courage and resilience of Ukrainians gave her the strength to carry on. <\/p>
